How We Met
The story goes that at a local drinking establishment one evening Thuy asked John, “Can I get some fries with that shake,” and the rest fell into lovingly blissful place. But none of that is true… The real story is a much more frustrating, sweet and plodding tale of friendship that turned into romance, that turned back into friendship, that then went overseas to London, that then came back home, thought about things a bit more and then turned into love. Yes, all totally John’s fault.
We originally met late in the summer of 1997 as popcorn shovelers in the concession stand of the local United Artist movie theater. Through our love of bad movies, good friends and boudin balls we began dating in 2004. On January 14, 2006 John proposed to Thuy at her surprise birthday party.
Us Currently
We currently reside in Alexandria, Louisiana having moved here in June of 2006 from New York City, where we had lived for 2 ½ years. Our apartment is shared with a watermelon shaped Corgi named Kilby and a crazy homeless cat who lives on our porch. During the day Thuy can be found at her flower shop, Floral Addiction, and John at the Alexandria Mall where he is the Marketing Director. In the evenings you can find us at the local hole-in-the-wall, Robbie G’s, enjoying the boiled crawfish we missed so much.
